Has the French Anti Tobacco Association gone too far?
By Charles-Henry Ruyant
Two days ago the French Anti Tobacco Association (DNF) used controversial images of teenagers knelt in front of a man’s crotch with a cigarette in their mouths. Obviously the scene is meant to look similar to a sexual act.
This campaign has provoked an outcry from different French association’s as well as the French government, branding these images as shocking and not of the right calibre for an anti-smoking campaign aimed at teens.
It has been a long time since an anti-smoking campaign has created such a reaction, although this kind of tactic is often used to promote safe driving or in anti-alcohol campaigns.
‘Oh Africa’ by Pepsi with Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres!
By Charles-Henry Ruyant
Yesterday Pepsi released a new music video called ‘Oh Africa’ performed by Akon and Keri Hilson. All money provided by downloads of the song will be donated to different associations.
The clip is also an attempt by Pepsi to be part of the football world cup this year in South Africa ….. Coca-cola is the official sponsor of the event.
In this music video we can see Didier Drogba and surprisingly for an African music video about football, Fernando Torres (Spanish player).
It is a good idea, but badly timed, why release this video only one day after the African Nation Cup?
