Twitter promotes Facebook movie!

By Charles-Henry Ruyant

Sony is promoting it’s latest movie “You Don’t Get To 500 Million Friends Without Making A Few Enemies” on Twitter. This film is about the life of the Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg.
Twitter- Promoted Tweets and Trends
Sony is using the new Twitter advertising program, where you can promote a trend or a tweet for a specific trend.

It is pretty ironic that Twitter is promoting a movie about Facebook, a competitor, via promoted trends and tweet call #socialmedia!

In other hand, shouldn’t Sony have promoted this movie on a Facebook fan page!?

Life in a Day: the first movie created by YouTube users!

By Charles-Henry Ruyant

Ridley Scott (director of blockbusters ‘Alien’,’ Robin Hood ‘etc) and YouTube are working together to create an amazing experimental movie. On the 24th of July, people from across the globe are going to film an account of their day, and post the video on YouTube.

Life in a day - YouTube Page

Ridley Scott will select the most interesting videos and will edit them together in order to make a movie about different people’s lives on this date.

This film will be a time capsule for the future and tell people how we used to live in 2010, with the unfortunate exception of few countries banned by the US (Cuba, Iran, South Korea…).

So if you have a video recorder you should go on YouTube and look for Life in a Day!

Nokia use social media to make fun of the new Apple iPhone

By Charles-Henry Ruyant

In its blog, Nokia has created a post entitled “How do you hold your Nokia?” , obviously referring to the issue that the new iPhone has with reception. Effectively, the iPhone 4 has some connection problems, when held by the lower left corner.

Apple stated officially that “Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas.” Nokia wanted to make sure that people understand than Nokia phones do not have any problems and this issue is specific to Apple.

Nokia used this official blog to write a funny post about how to hold your phone and make clear that Nokia phone can be held in whatever way you like!

“Of course, feel free to ignore all of the above because realistically, you’re free to hold your Nokia device any way you like. And you won’t suffer any signal loss. Cool, huh?” (Nokia’s post conclusion)

It is a funny and smart way to put down the competition. Good job Nokia!
